DAY 1 
ST.PETERSBURG 

"Welcome to Russia!" or "S priezdom!" Our friendly and courteous driver will be there to meet you upon your arrival to ST.PETERSBURG. You will have some time to check-in at the hotel, refresh yourself and take some rest before getting on the tour! 

GUIDED CITY TOUR + THE PETER & PAUL’S FORTRESS

 

During this tour you will catch the excitement at Nevsky Prospect, a street bustling with activity and dotted with famous monuments. Admire the Palace Square housing the unique Winter Palace. You’ll admire a panoramic view at the St. Bazil’s Island Point and see Peter and Paul Fortress. The Summer Gardens with their Italian sculptures will offer you their lovely peaceful surroundings. The Field of Mars will offer you an opportunity to pay your tribute to those who fought in the war. 


DAY 2  

ST.PETERSBURG

GUIDED TOUR to PUSHKIN

 

This guided tour will show you around Catherine’s residence and the park.You will enjoy the exterior and interior of Catherine’s Palace which is considered to be one of the world’s architectural masterpieces and walk in the romantic park that surrounds this palace. You will have a guided tour around marvelous rooms of the palace, including the Grand Hall decorated with gilded wood carving and mirrors; and, of course, you will admire the magnificent Amber Room (that was newly opened in May 2003 after 25 years of reconstruction). 


DAY 3

GUIDED TOUR TO THE STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM 



This guided tour through the State Hermitage Museum, will introduce you to the main rooms and expositions of the largest museum of Russia and one of the most significant museums of the world. At present the museum occupies five buildings: the Winter Palace, the Small Hermitage, the Old Hermitage, the New Hermitage and the Hermitage Theatre.Besides the huge collection of paintings, the museum also acquired collections of prints and drawings, classical antiquities, objects of Western European applied art, weapons, coins, medals and books (Voltaire&’s library). In the 19th century the Hermitage began to receive archaeological artefacts which, among other things, formed the nucleus of the celebrated collection of Scythian gold.At the Hermitage you can explore the art of Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Classical Greece and its colonies in the northern Black Sea area. You can also examine the culture of the Etruscans and the primitive tribes of Siberia, as well as see Egyptian mummies, antique pottery, Tanagra statuary and much more.The interiors of the Winter Palace are among the masterpieces of baroque. Apparently, it would take a visitor almost 15 years to appreciate all the treasures the museum houses. Transfer to the train-station.Overnight train to NIZHNIY NOVGOROD. 

DAY 4 

NIZHNIY NOVGOROD



Early in the morning you will arrive to Nizhniy Novgorod.  One of the oldest Russian settlements, Nizhni Novgorod was founded by the Great Prince Yuri in 1221. In 1350 Nizhni Novgorod became the capital of the Nizhni Novgorod principality. Nowdays the cultural heritage of the city is represented by the Kremlin, The Uspenskaya, Ilynskaya and Strogonovskaya churches, The Art Museum, The Historical and Architectural Museum. The town is also known as a university center.

 

Our driver will meet you at the train station upon arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in.

GUIDED WALKING CITY TOUR

 

The Kremlin of Nizhniy Novgorod is a historical landmark and a monument to construction of fortification. This excursion introduces its participants to the Kremlin's boulevard with its towers whos names recall the glory of past military might of the Kremlin and the city as a whole. The war memorial, Archangelski cathedral, the tomb of K. Minin are all fascinating stops on this unmissible tour that comes to a close at the Eternal Flame with the observation of a minute silence. If desired, you may also visit the Kremlin walls or Dimitrievski tower.At the end of the tour, the driver will take you back to the hotel.

 

DAY 5  
NIZHNIY NOVGOROD

GUIDED TOUR : Wood tales of Russia 

This excursion gives an insight into surprisingly beautiful world of rural life and its architectural background. The route lies along the ancient streets of Nizhniy Novgorod uncovering such delights as monuments to architects, wooden and stone constructions, famous residences. Significant part of this excursion takes place in the rooms of the Museum of Construction where the main principles of wooden architecture are reveald.Free time.Transfer to the train-station.Departure for EKATERINBURG. 

DAY 6  

EKATERINBURG

 

It takes about 20 hours to get to Ekaterinburg from Nizhniy Novgorod.Closer to midnight you will arrive to Ekaterinburg situated on the boundary between Europe and Asia. You will be met by our driver, who will take you to your accommodation. Check-in at the hotel. 

DAY 7

EKATERINBURG

 

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the day! Our guide and driver will meet you at the reception of the hotel with the sign with your name on it.

GUIDED CITY TOUR

During this excursion you will be introduced to the modern city of Ekaterinburg. You will see its large industrial and cultural background. You will also see city’s many landmarks and hear the stories that connect these places within the times of 18-20 centuries. You will visit Voznesensky Hill and admire one of the most beautiful buildings of the city - a palace of merchants Rastorguevy - Haritonovy.

GUIDED TOUR to EUROPE & ASIA BORDER

In Russia it's the Urals - the mountain range serves as the official dividing line between the Russian West and the Russian East. The dividing line shoots right through Yekaterinburg and is marked by an obelisk. This is probably a cultural crime to be in Yekaterinburg and not to see The Border Marker. During the excursion you will get acquainted with the nature of Urals Mountains, history of the Great Siberian (Moscow) Road and that of settlements located on it. You will also learn why the Urals symbolise the dividing line between the East and the West.

GUIDED TOUR  "THE LAST DAYS OF THE ROMANOVS"

Here, in Ekaterinburg, the family of Russian emperor Nikolay the 2nd spent the last days of their life. You will hear about the history of the Romanov Dynasty. You will visit the Memorial Cathedral on  the Blood which was built on the place of execution of the last tsar Nikolay II and his family.The guide will show   you the unique orthodox monastery - Ganina Yama, constructed on the place of the initial burial place of imperial remains. Here you will also get an opportunity to see seven wooden churches surrounded with a picturesque birch-pine forest. After the tour, our driver will take you to your hotel. 

DAY 8-9 
 

Check-out. Our driver will take you to the Train Station. Departure for Irkutsk.On train.It takes almost 55 hours and about 3400 km from Yekaterinburg to get to Irkutsk the heart of Siberia!You will be stopping at Novosibirsk closer to midnight, the city is famous for its Akademgorodok where one can find more than 15 universities, 43 institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and over 100 other research institutions of nearly all research branches. Krasnoyarsk  - located  between rivers of Yenissei and Katshiill, will be your last longer stop before arrival. Long time ago the city served as a place of exile for political prisoners of Russian Empire, most noted the Decembrists. After Krasnoyarsk the part of Trans-Siberian route is considered to be the most beautiful. You will see incredibly stunning nature with so many Siberian rivers and lakes, forests and mountains.The trip will take you 2.5 days. 

DAY 10  

IRKUTSK - LISTVYANKA

 

Upon your arrival to Irkutsk you will be met by our guide and driver. While the transfer to your accommodation in Listvyanka you will have a first glimpse on the Capital of the Pribalkalye, East Siberia.

TRIP TO THE MUSEUM "TALTSI"

 

Tour to the museum of wooden architecture "Taltsi" located on the way from Irkutsk to Listvyanka, where you can see a collection of expositions showing the ancient life of a Russian village. 78 wooden buildings are presented and give a very nice overview about lifestyle and architecture of the ethnical groups living in acient Sibieria.At the end of the tour, the guide and driver will take you to the hotel in Lystvyanka for check-in.  Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 11 
LISTVYANKA  

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the day! Our guide will meet you at the reception of the hotel with the sign with your name on it.

WALKING TOUR at LAKE BAIKAL



During this tour in Listvyanka village the guide will show you around, you will get acquainted with the nature of this region of Russia and will see the fascinating panorama of Baikal lake from the panoramic area. The legendary Lake Baikal with it's fascinating nature and unique fauna is the oldest, deepest (1721 m) and cleanest lake in the world. You will be taken up to the observation point Cherskogo rock by cable way, where a panoramic area will let you enjoy an amazing view of lake Baikal and all the nature that surrounds it.At the end of the tour, the guide will walk you back to the hotel. 


DAY 12  

LISTVYANKA

 

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Today is a free day. Spend your time exploring the village at your own pace. 

DAY 13 

IRKUTSK

 

Check-out. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the day! Our guide and driver will meet you at the reception of the hotel with the sign with your name on it.  Transfer to Irkutsk.

IRKUTSK CITY-TOUR

 

During this excursion you will explore the main sites on a walking tour and see the Kirov Square, where the Saviot Church, the Epiphany Cathedral and the Catholic Church are situated. You will be invited for a walk along the embankment of River Angara. It offers you a chance to see the White House and the monument of Alexander the 3rd. Then you will visit one museum of your choice: the Museum of Local Lore or the Decembrists’ museum. At the end of the tour our driver will drop you off at the Train Station. Train to Ulan-Bator 


DAY 14 

On train.It takes almost 33 hours from Irkutsk to get to Ulan-Bator.The first city where the train will take a longer stop is Ulan-Ude - the capital of the Republic of Buryatiya and the center of the Russian Buddhism, - where you will have about an hour to get off the train and take a short walk at the platform early in the morning.The train will run along the lake shore and you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding nature. By the lunch time you will arrive to Naushki - the closest Russian town located near the border with Mongolia. Please note you will make the border crossing into Mongolia with the usual halt for formalities. 

 

DAY 15

ULAN-BATOR

 

  Our friendly driver will be there to meet you upon your arrival to Ulan-Bator early in the morning. While the transfer to your accommodation you will take a first view of the Capital of Mongolia. The official check-in time is 12 at noon. However if your room will be available earlier to that, it might be allocated to you on arrival. (If your room is not available you will be able to leave your luggage with the hotel reception). You will have a chance to have breakfast before setting off on the tour!  

GUIDED CITY TOUR with visit to GANDAN MONASTERY

 

During this city tour the guide will show you around the city of Ulan-Bator and visit the most popular sightseeing spots: Gandan Monastery ("Great Place of Complete Joy")- a Tibetan-style monastery in the Mongolian capital of Ulan-Bator that has been restored and revitalized since 1990. It currently has over 150 monks in residence. It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Migjid Janraisig, a Buddhist bodhisattva also known as Avalokitesvara.  Winter Palace - that is a museum now, - is the only one palace left from originally 4 residences of the eighth Jebtsundamba Khutughtu, who was later proclaimed Bogd Khan, or emperor of Mongolia. The complex includes six temples. On display are many of the Bogd Khan's possessions, such as his throne and bed, his collection of art and stuffed animals, his ornate ceremonial ger, and a pair of ceremonial boots given to the Khan by Russian Tsar Nicholas. Your next stop will be Zaisan Memorial located south of Ulan-Batar that honors Soviet soldiers killed in World War II. Located on a hill, the memorial features a circular memorial painting that depicts scenes of friendship between the peoples of the USSR and Mongolia. After driving to the uppermost parking lot on the hill, visitors must make a climb of three hundred steps before reaching the monument and mural. Those who make the climb are rewarded with a panoramic view of the entire city of Ulan- Bator in the valley below, as well as the Tuul River flowing past the city. And at last, you will visit the famous Sukhbaatar square that was named after and features an equestrian statue of Damdin Sükhbaatar, one of the leaders of Mongolia's 1921 revolution. The statue is located directly in front of the Saaral Ordon (Government Palace). At the end of the tour, the guide and driver will take you back to the hotel for check-in.  
 

 

DAY 16-17

 

Check-out. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the day! Our guide and driver will meet you at the reception of the hotel with the sign with your name on it. Transfer to Terelj National park.

 

TRIP TO TERELJ NATIONAL PARK

 

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is one of the national parks of Mongolia.The Terelj tourist zone has a number of "tourist camps". The Terelj settlement is located in the valley of the Terelj River, approximately 66 km from the Ulan-Bator city center. A small southern portion of the park is developed for tourists, with restaurants, souvenir shops, horses and camels for rent, and tourist ger camps. However, most of the park is undeveloped and difficult to access. Attractions include Khagiin Khar Lake, a 20m deep glacial lake 80 km upstream from the tourist camps, and Yestii Hot Water Springs, natural hot springs 18 km further upstream. The park also has a Buddhist monastery that is open to visitors. Park wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park has many rock formations for rock climbers, and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble. The guide will take you to one of them – the famous Turtle Rock. You will see the 100 Monks Cave - where buddhist monks hid from oppression, some say that about 100 monks hid here, - and Terelj Monastery. You will have a Mongolian BBQ in the evening. You can arrange a horse ride for extra pay. Overnight stays in ger camp. 

 

 

DAY 18

 

Transfer back to Ulan-Bator early in the morning.   Transfer to the airport/train station.
